Sat 7.00 am - 10.00 am (time trials)

Where are competitions held? At the Alice Springs pool plus Katherine NT in October, Tennant Creek NT in November, Darwin in March.

Cost per season: Pool entry plus registration (cost depends on squad),plus coaching fees paid monthly(depends on squad)

Uniform requirements: Club T shirt or singlet available from the pool deck during training. To be worn with black pants or shorts. Speedo bathers also available but no club specifications.

Age Groupings and name: We have four training squads, GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE and Minis. Minis need to be at least 5 years of age and able to swim 25 metres in freestyle. Swimmers then progress to the next squad level once they have developed a satisfactory level of skill and technique are able to cope with a slightly higher volume and intensity of work.

Brief description of competition: There are official Swimming NT swimming meets held regularly (at least every two weeks) throughout the swimming season catering to all age groups ranging from the 9 years and Under Carnivals to the NT Open and Age Swimming Championships.

The Club holds its own Dolphin Dash Club Night once a month at Nightcliff Pool which is designed to introduce swimmers to competition at their own pace in a friendly and social environment. Family members are invited to attend and there is always novelty/fun races and a shared dinner at the end of the evening (usually 5.30pm to 7.30pm).

Where is training held? Nightcliff Aquatic Centre, Casuarina Drive, Nightcliff. Training days and times: Mini Squad - Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 3.30-4.30pm Bronze Squad – Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri at 3.30-5.00pm Silver and Gold Squads – Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri at 4.00-6.00pm and Wednesday and Friday mornings 5.30 – 7am and Saturday mornings 6am – 8am.

What do they need to bring to training? All swimmers need to bring Water bottles to refill. Gold and Silver Squad swimmers need to have: fins, pullboys, paddles, swim caps, goggles and spare goggles. Bronze Squad swimmers need to have: fins, swim caps, goggles and spare goggles. Mini Squad swimmers need to have: goggles and swim cap.

Public transport near training: Yes, regular busses stop aling Nightcliff Road and near the Aquatic Centre.

Where are competitions held? Generally they are at Casuarina Pool, Angelo St, Casuarina. 9 and Under Carnivals are held at Parap Pool, Nightcliff Pool and Palmerston Pool. Swim meets are also held in the regions, Katherine, Gove and Alice Springs.

Competition days and times: Swim meets are usually held on a Saturday evenings (commencing at 4.30pm). Some meets go over a weekend (Katherine and Alice Springs Carnivals) and the NT Championships are held over four days (Thurs to Sunday).

Cost per season: Club Registration Fees - Swimmer registration (which covers cost of membership to Swimming Australia, Swimming Northern Territory and all insurance) is $150.00 per year or $130.00 per year for siblings. It is a Club requirement that at least one parent/guardian from each family is registered and this costs $20 per year. Coaching fees which are paid direct to the coach are: Minis - $65.00 per school term; Bronze - $95.00 per school term, Gold and Silver - $120.00 per school term.

Uniform requirements: Club uniform consists of a long sleeved white cotton polo shirt, black sports shorts and black club bucket hat. Club bathers and Club swim caps are available for purchase as well.

Costs are available from the Uniform Coordinator (available each Monday on pool deck).

What do they need to bring to competitions? Club uniform, club bathers, club swim cap, water bottles, goggles and spare goggles and a nutritious snack.

Would you appreciate parent volunteers? Absolutely! Parents can get involved in all aspects of swimming from being Team Manager, to timekeeping to becoming fully fledged trained officials on pool deck. Also, help is always needed to assist with club BBQ's, Club Nights when duty Club for official swimming carnivals.
