Age Groupings and name: U7s – U19’s Boys and Girls, in yearly age groups.
Competition Name: Nippers (U7’s to U12’s) and Juniors (U13 to U19’s)
Single sex or mixed competition: Training is mixed but competition is single sex.
Brief description of competition: Team building, fun and competition for boys and girls. Training is provided in beach and aquatic sports from beach sprinting, swimming, flags, board paddling, mock rescues and ironman events. Emphasis on competition increases with age. Younger members concentrate on participation, safety and fun on the beach and in the water. U13’s and older work towards certification in lifesaving awards.
Season dates: April to October
Where is training held? Season training in April usually begins at one of the Olympic pools, but from 1 May, to 30 September, training is at Casuarina beach.
Training days and times: Each Sunday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by sausage sizzle. Some beach and craft training happens during the week as well.
What do they need to bring to training? Hat, sunscreen (applied before you leave home), swimmers, water bottle.

Where are competitions held? Club competitions are held at the surf club three or four times a year. Near the end of the season the NT Championships are held either at the Darwin Surf Lifesaving Club (SLSC), at Gove SLSC, or at Broome SLSC
Competition days and times: Weekly training and races happen each Sunday Morning between 9:00 and 11:00 am, followed by a sausage sizzle.
Cost per season: Nipper registration costs $30 per nipper per season. Junior registration is $45 per season.
Uniform requirements: The club has swimmers and rash vests for sale, as well as surf lifesaving caps.

Fun on the beach run by parents Structured life saving programs includes competition, life saving skills
