Competition Name: Palmerston Netball Competition

Single sex or mixed competition: Junior Competition – mixed (rules apply); Senior Competition – female players only.

Brief description of competition: The PNA Dryseason Competition targets young players in the Palmerston & Rural areas. The majority of teams registered in the Junior Competition are school based, however this is not a requirement for entry. Anyone can play!

Season dates: The PNA Dryseason Competition runs from late March to the end of September each year. During the “wet season” the competition is strengthened with the running of “Skills & Drills Clinics” which are held every Saturday morning in early October to early December (10 weeks). These clinics will be conducted early in the new year as weather permits.

Where is training held?
Trainings are conducted by each team.

What do they need to bring to training?
water bottle, hat, appropriate athletic shoes!

Where are competitions held? Competition is held at the Palmerston Netball Courts at the corner of Tilston Avenue & Bonson Terrace, Palmerson.

The Junior Competition is run on Thursday evenings. The 10 & Under Competition is run at 5.30pm; and the 13 & Under Competition is run from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. The Senior Competition is run on Monday evenings. The 15 & Under, 17 & Under, and the 19 & Under Competitions are currently all run at 6.30pm.

Cost per season: Registration costs: Junior Competition $80; Senior Competition $90. We offer family discounts.

Uniform requirements: Teams nominate team colours which are to be worn by all players on the court. Teams are to supply their own bibs.

Is there an opportunity to compete in a NT title? If so, what are the dates and where will it be held?
The PNA competes in the NT Netball Challenge in June. In 2008 PNA were represented in the 15 & Under and 17 & Under Championships. Our goal is to increase our representation in 2009 and beyond.

What do they need to bring to competitions? Players should ensure they are wearing their team colours, are wearing appropriate athletic shoes, no jewellery, and have a water bottle.
