Age Groups: All ages. If you can ride a bike you can have a go.

Competition Name: Club Racing on Friday nights. Check website for updates.

Competition Description: BMX races have up to eight riders at a time on the track. Riders are grouped on age or ability depending on the type of race meeting. The idea is to get over the jumps & obstacles as fast & smooth as you can by jumping or pedaling.

Season Dates: Dry season. May to November.

Training Venue:
At the BMX track.
Abala road Marrara.

Training Days & Times:
Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon from 5pm.
Training sessions are divided into age groups. Call us to see which session best suits you.

Training Transport:
The track is located near the Airport.
A bus can be used to get to Rothdale Road & McMillans road intersection.
Training Items Required:
Tear resistant long sleeve shirt, long pants, shoes. Full face helmet & gloves can be borrowed on request. Bike in safe working condition.
Water bottle & healthy snacks.

Competition Venue: Racing is held at Jingili, Satellite City, Alice Springs & Nhulunbuy.

Competition Days & Times: Generally Friday nights. Check website for details. Season Cost: Riders licence is $76 per year or a day license is $15. Club membership is $30 per year.

Uniform Requirements: Tear resistant Long pants, long sleeve shirt, runners, full face helmet & gloves.

Uniform Cost: If you are keen to keep going then motocross type clothing is available. On average the total cost is roughly $300. Race bikes start at about $400.

NT Title Comp: The NTBMX titles are held in the October school holidays. The venue rotates each year between the Clubs. Comp Items Required: Basically the same as for a training session as well as your license.

Comp Transport: Buses can get you close to the venues. Easiest way is to get a ride in a car.

Parent Volunteer option: Yes

Parent Volunteer: BMX is a family orientated sport. Parents can race also. Their help with training, Officiating & working in the canteen is greatly appreciated. BMX is an action sport. Some injuries do occur but these are mostly minor because we were safety equipment. It is also a great way to meet new friends.

Season Cost: Annual Club fees of $25 per rider. Annual BMX Australia licence between $56 & $76. $3 per child per race night.

NT Title Comp: 2008 NT Titles to be held at Jingili BMX Club in Darwin 3rd & 4th October
